На самом Дальнем Востоке планеты лежит остров, напоминающий рыбу - остров Сахалин. Случайно или нет, но рыбный промысел - это один из основных видов деятельности коренных жителей.
Работа команды рыбаков похожа на работу самого точного механизма. Найти место лова самая важная задача, которая лежит на плечах капитана. Далее подключается палубная команда под руководством старшего помощника капитана, который четко отдает команды матросам, такелажникам и старшему механику. Все движения отточены до миллиметра. Команда забрасывает невод, снюревод или драгу, в зависимости от того, на какую рыбу ведется промысел. Далее траление, в этот момент команда переводит дух, курит или пьет что-то согревающее. Пора вытягивать сети и проверять наполнение. И этот процесс повторяется снова и снова.
Есть ли своя романтика, работая в море - нет, это каждодневный тяжелый и изнурительный труд.

In extreme Far East of our country just almost on the edge of the world, you will see an island called Sakhalin which literally resembles the shape of fish. Surprisingly or not but fishing is the most vital backbone of Sakhalin economy for its residents.
Work of any fishing crew can be compared to the operation of the most precise mechanism. Finding successful fishing spots is the biggest task here which is the responsibility of the captain. After fishing spot is found, the deck crew gets involved under supervision of the chief mate who gives directions to the crew such as sailors, riggers and chief mechanic. Every movement is just precise to the millimeter. The crew casts seine, seine net, or dredge depending on type of fish they are going to catch. Then comes trawling, and by this moment the crew can take a short break to rest, smoke, or drink something to warm themselves. It’s time to haul in the nets and check if they catch anything. And they keep repeating this over and over again.
Is maritime work romantic? No, it is not romantic at all but indeed challenging and exhausting day after day.
“There is not even any romance here but it just stinks, fish stinks so bad you know”.
